Mission Statement
The ITA is an independent, not for profit, professional association of leading firms and companies whose purpose is to share information and build relationships that improve the way its member firms, and their clients, do business. Because the ITA membership roster consists of some of the most highly regarded mid-market technology professionals, consultants, and product/service providers, we often employ our collective influence to act as an authoritative voice for the IT profession.

ITA is the only national organization where these constituencies come together as equals. Our members believe success comes through the sharing of the knowledge and experiences our different disciplines bring to the profession. We do this by active networking, this website

, surveys, newsletters, and biannual retreats. ITA is a place where independent thinking and alternative points of view are openly promoted and respected.
Our scope includes: Hardware, Network Services, Security, Project Management, Business Management (CIO and Consulting), Systems Design and Implementation, Skills Education, and Certification.
Constituency
The ITA membership is made up of six different constituencies, each sharing the common goal of providing products and/or services to the small and mid sized business community (the SMB marketplace).
For each constituency, there is a value proposition document that articulates member benefits, application information, support fees and more. To view these, use the constituency links below.
Practice Firms.
Practice Firms are the largest group of the current ITA membership. Practice Firms can be independent consulting and/or reselling firms (often referred to as VAR's) or they can be operating consulting and/or reselling entities within larger organizations such as CPA firms. These firms provide products, services, and on-going support directly to end-users. They may focus on business applications, infrastructure, security, or any combination of those and other services. Business Owners and Practice Leaders attend ITA meetings to represent their Firms.
Internal Technology Leaders.
Often simply referred to as CIOs or CTOs, this group focuses on the internal technology needs and the strategic direction of multi-office, mobile worker, professional services firms. ITA member firms are often represented at meetings by their Practice Firm representative and their CIO/CTO representative.
Alliance Partners.
Alliance Partners are at the core of the ITA. This group consists of firms that develop hardware and/or software products for the SMB market. Further, these firms rely on the "Channel Partner" concept (Practice Firms) to deliver their products and services to end-users. Alliance Partners are committed to helping recruit their channel partners into the ITA as a way to improve the effectiveness and viability of their channel strategy.
Affinity Partners and Vendors to the Profession.
APVs are those firms that develop and deliver products that directly help Practice Firm and/or ITL members improve/run their internal businesses or practices. APVs often provide ITA members with special product offers and/or prices in exchange for higher visibility within the ITA membership. They are also active in helping to recruit their non-ITA clients into the ITA.
Consultants to the Profession.
This group consists of those firms that provide planning, marketing, selling, HR, and other consulting services to Practice Firms and CIOs/CTOs. Consultants to the Profession often run their own "user group" meetings in conjunction with ITA meetings, and are active in recruiting their non-ITA Practice Firm and CIO/CTO clients into the ITA to help augment their direct consulting services.
