Thinking About Joining the ITA?

The ITA membership is made up of six different constituencies, each sharing the common goal of providing products and/or services to the small and mid sized business community (the SMB marketplace). Click on the membership type below that most closely describes your firm:

Practice Firms. Practice Firms are the largest group of the current ITA membership. Practice Firms can be independent consulting and/or reselling firms (often referred to as VAR's) or they can be operating consulting and/or reselling entities within larger organizations such as CPA firms. These firms provide products, services, and on-going support directly to end-users. They may focus on business applications, infrastructure, security, or any combination of those and other services. Business Owners and Practice Leaders attend ITA meetings to represent their Firms.

Internal Technology Leaders. Often simply referred to as CIOs or CTOs, this group focuses on the internal technology needs and the strategic direction of multi-office, mobile worker, professional services firms. ITA member firms are often represented at meetings by their Practice Firm representative and their CIO/CTO representative.

Alliance Partners. Alliance Partners are at the core of the ITA. This group consists of firms that develop hardware and/or software products for the SMB market. Further, these firms rely on the "Channel Partner" concept (Practice Firms) to deliver their products and services to end-users. Alliance Partners are committed to helping recruit their channel partners into the ITA as a way to improve the effectiveness and viability of their channel strategy.

Affinity Partners. Affinity Partners consist of those firms that develop products and/or services that directly help Practice Firms improve/run their businesses. Their targeted customers are the Practice Firms. Affinity Partners provide ITA members with special offers and prices in exchange for access to the ITA membership.

Consultants to the Profession. This group consists of those firms that provide planning, marketing, selling, HR, and other consulting services to Practice Firms and CIOs/CTOs. Consultants to the Profession often run their own "user group" meetings in conjunction with ITA meetings, and are active in recruiting their non-ITA Practice Firm and CIO/CTO clients into the ITA to help augment their direct consulting services.

Association Partners. Association Partners are independent trade associations that do not have significant consulting and/or internal IT resources. They join the ITA to help create strategic relationships to better serve clients, internal end-users and the profession as a whole. Association Partners often hold an annual meeting in conjunction with an ITA meeting to be able to more effectively focus on association issues and the larger industry trends and issues.
