Exploring the Wines of Italy(An Italian Wine Primer)

You are confirmed for the ITA Virtual Wine Tasting event.  You will get an email confirmation as well and can add this to your calendar from the email.

Monday 7:00-8:30pm EASTERN

Prerequisites:

• Purchase a bottle or two of Italian wine beforehand.  I recommend you do this from a local wine store (e.g., Total Wines, BevMo or your favorite wine shop) rather than a grocery store to ensure you have a decent selection of Italian wines to choose from.  Feel free to explore or get a recommendation from someone in the shop.  The goal is to select something you have never had before.  If you are asking for a recommendation, I suggest you tell the person assisting you what you typically like to drink (i.e., big bold reds, light reds, cab, pinot, chardonnay, etc.) and let them pick something for you. If you bring something that is not familiar to me, that’s okay, I always love learning about new varietals and regions.  
• If you have two wines, please have two glasses on hand.
• Try to have 3 or 4 cheeses on hand from the following list:
  • BRA
  • FONTINA VAL D'AOSTA
  • GORGONZOLA
  • PARMIGIANO-REGGIANO
  • PECORINO TOSCANO
  • ROBIOLA DI ROCCAVERANO
  • TALEGGIO
